With Halloween right around the corner, what better way to satisfy your late night munchies than with some fun popcorn recipes?
Associating Halloween with popcorn might not be everyone’s immediate pairing, but for me it’s a no brainer. Just the idea of popping popcorn screams fall to me.
Popcorn is a quick late night go-to, and most toppings for these recipes can already be found in your pantry. You can start with homemade popcorn, using an air-popper (my personal favorite method) or with some oil in the bottom of a pan. No judgment will be passed if you chose to use microwave popcorn. Where would us famished midnight eaters be without microwave popcorn? Nowhere. The answer is nowhere.
1. The popcorn recipe at the top of my list of things to try is this guy right here, Oreo popcorn. White chocolate chips, Oreo cookies and popcorn? YAAAAAAAAAAS! Quick, easy, chocolaty and only three ingredients… sold.
2. S’mores + caramel + popcorn = BOOM. I’m going to go ahead and just refer to this one as s’mores corn. Although s’mores corn appears as though it would be a little too time consuming for the average middle of the night snack, it doesn’t have to be. Start with store-bought caramel corn, melt the chocolate chips in the microwave and thank me later.
3. The combination of sweet chocolate and savory salt is seriously trending in the food world right now, and this dark chocolate salted popcorn is seriously easy. If it were me, after mixing the ingredients I’d throw the whole shebang into the freezer. That way it can set in half the time, and I can eat it that much faster. But that’s just me….
4. Okay, I get it. Not everyone’s life revolves around chocolate (but why?). So, for you savory folks out there, how about some super simple, super impressive buffalo cheddar popcorn? This popcorn is essentially homemade hot Cheetos, which is always a good idea. But, if you want to ensure it’s nice and buffalo-y, substitute the hot sauce with buffalo sauce.
